When the week is too big, do the next hour
There’s a trap in trying to fix your whole life on a Sunday night. The scale of it — the money, the custody, the empty flat, the version of yourself you used to be — is so big it flattens you before you’ve done a single thing.
So shrink the frame until it’s almost embarrassing. Not the week. The next hour. One shower. One walk. One bill opened. You are not trying to feel better; you’re trying to prove the day is still yours to steer, in one small way.
Motivation is not the thing that gets you started. It’s the thing that shows up, quietly, a few minutes after you already started. Give it something to catch up to.
Been through something like this?
Your experience could be the thing that gets the next man through his week.
